Drink Wicks candles started out with a simple idea when I was boxing up bottles I’ve collected through the years. Some bottles had very special meaning so I just couldn’t get rid of them. I’ve always had a love for candles so – after lots of trial and error, Drink Wicks Candle Co. was born. It’s been an incredible journey so far and all the new friends I’m meeting along the way is definitely an added bonus.

Benefits of soy wax:

Cleaner burning – no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants, which means it is less likely to trigger allergies
Longer lasting – soy wax burns cooler, which means you can enjoy your soy wax candles for generally 30-50% longer than other wax candles.
Soy wax is biodegradable and can be washed out with soap and water.

Tips:

Trim candle wicks. Keep your wicks trimmed each time before re-lighting your candle to have an even and clean burn.
Let the wax pool. Allow the entire top layer of your candle become a pool of liquid wax. This allows your candle to burn all the way to the edges so you won’t waste any wax.
Let your candle burn for 4 to 5 hours and put it out to give it a break. You can re-light once the candle has cooled off. This will ensure the candle to burn clean.
Burn it safe. Always burn your candles on heat resistant surface and never leave attended when lit.

My name is Joyce Woo, Vancouver born and raised. I am a daughter to my incredible parents, a wife to an amazing husband and a mother to my two wonderful boys. I started Drink Wicks Candle Co. as a hobby and a way to raise some money for charities. I couldn’t have thought of a better way of keeping bottles away from landfills and creating conversation pieces, while truly loving what I am doing. Well, maybe not the dumpster diving part…now thinking back, I can’t believe I actually did that. Re-purposing bottles into candles really isn’t a pretty process but the finished product is totally worth it.
